ABOUT
ABOUT BRIAN SAVVY:
I started my photography journey in 2013, right after graduating high school. At the time, I was making beats on my computer and exploring the vibrant world of Tumblr and Instagram. I’d buy clothes with the money I earned from various jobs around Raleigh, NC. While working at a downtown restaurant, I was inspired to capture moments and express myself through photography.
My initial goal was to take photos for my music covers and online content, influenced by the creative energy of Tumblr and Instagram. I bought my first camera and began documenting me and my friends outfits. This passion led me to collaborate with a clothing designer, helping him photograph his collections. At 19, I was still unsure about my path; I spent my time with friends, partying, and snapping pictures with our iPhones.
I had developed a love for skateboarding since I was 15, and I found inspiration in skate culture. A chance encounter with a man who handed me a skateboard and skate magazines opened my eyes to the stories of skateboarders traveling across the USA. This inspired me to take the leap to Florida. I sold all my equipment and booked a one-way ticket to Florida.
During my time in Florida, I focused on making music and skateboarding but constantly longed for a camera. Unfortunately, my part-time job barely covered my basic needs. After some time, I returned to North Carolina, diving deeper into photography. I began building my portfolio through a blog where I shared my experiences and captured moments with friends. As my skills improved, I started charging for photography and videography, eventually raising my rates to a few hundred dollars per gig when I moved to LA.
ABOUT TOMO:
Fashion has always been a driving force in my photography. It brings images to life and serves as a source of inspiration. I created the TOMO collection to capture images without relying solely on client work. Professional photography can become overwhelming, especially when the business side overshadows creativity.
I enjoy collaborating and taking photos for free, but sometimes, it feels like people take advantage. TOMO allows me to showcase my skills without the stress of running a photography business, letting me play with my camera while maintaining my artistic vision.
TOMO means “Traveling On My Own.”It embodies a sense of freedom and comfort for those navigating the world independently. It reflects a journey—both literal and metaphorical. Sometimes, we wake up alone, take public transit, or drive into traffic, surrounded by people yet still feeling like we’re traveling solo. It’s about being comfortable with oneself, feeling confident in public situations, and embracing life while taking care of business, traveling, or engaging in art and sports.
TOMO is designed for modern individuals who appreciate style without sacrificing comfort. It caters to those who often travel—whether physically or through life experiences—seeking clothing that complements their dynamic lifestyle. The collection focuses on versatility, color, and comfort, enabling wearers to feel good while exploring new places or coexisting with diverse groups.
What sets TOMO apart is its commitment to color-blocking and comfort-focused designs. Each piece is not just clothing; it's a reminder that fashion can be a companion during travels and a reflection of personal style.
The vision for TOMO extends beyond T-shirts and hoodies. As the brand grows, I aim to incorporate a wider range of clothing while maintaining a focus on comfort and style. Eventually, I aspire to transition into more complex designs, expanding the collection to include cut-and-sew garments.
